ISMIP7 Timeline

One of the key goals for ISMIP7 is to inform the next major, international, assessment of climate change, the Seventh Assessment Report (AR7) of the IPCC.  The journal publication deadline for AR7 signficantly drives the ISMIP7 project time.  In late 2025, the AR7 timeline underwent revision such that the publication deadlines were moved forward in time.

Below is a broad overview of the various pieces of the ISMIP7 timeline in black font, with our best understanding of AR7 deadlines in gray (as of February 2026).  We note that these AR7 deadlines are not yet firmly established and the dates may change significantly from that presented below.
